About David HughesTwisted Pear are rapidly rising through the world of dance music. James Cardew-Watts and David Hughes, hailing from Norwich and Cambridge respectively, have been DJing and making music together from a young age. There influences stretch far and wide, enabling them to carve out a sound that they have taken to clubs all over. To label the Pear sound is hard, but Tech House / Techno appears to fit best. There style has seen them make a big impact at clubs like Pacha, Ministry of Sound and further afield in Ibiza. A true visual experience, the duo play out with Ableton, a decision that has proven to be the right move for them. 2009 was a breakout year for the duo. They headlined East Anglia's Techno event, SecreTechnoSociety, and then jetted off to Ibiza to headline Tek Disko in San Antonio. On there return to the UK, they played at MAZE twice and Ministry of Sound, playing alongside the likes of Judge Jules, Deepgroove, Boy George, Camilo Serna and Tall Paul. 2010 continued in the same fashion, with a main room set @ Pacha London and the honour of closing the Redfest festival giving the Pear a tremendous platform. These appearances signified Twisted Pear's intent within the dance music community and showed what they could do out on the road. Outside of DJing, they have appeared in Futuremusic magazine and have been guests on the Future Underground Show on Future radio. The duo's production skills have not gone un-noticed either. The first official remix of the Rhythm Punkz - Trumpeta is available to download on Beatport and itunes now, while remixes for bands such as the Bibelots and Dirty Flags are also on the way. Original productions are gathering pace too, with the pear always looking for new promoters and labels to get there music heard. Looking forward, the pear are set to host the Future Underground show on rotation with current presenters Jonezy and Nick Bowman, whilst productions are due to be completed at Alexander Studios shortly. Keep checking the gig bookings to see where you can next catch this exciting act! Keep checking back, as news of a new project trickles through...... Twisted Pear Screw labels, let's dance...
